The Philospoher's Stone - Harry Potter
By Curiousgood
Let me just say this first: It is called the Philosopher's Stone, NOT the Sorcerer's Stone. The name was changed for the US release because stupid american publishers didn't think kids would get it if it were called the Philosopher's stone. I never have and will never call it the Sorcerer's Stone. That's dumb.
Now that that's out of the way, let me talk about this replica. It is beautiful. It lives on my desk, under a small glass dome, where light can shine through it in the afternoons. I know you can't really see it in the photos here, but this thing looks stunning with light coming through it.
Now, it's definitely not screen-accurate... I believe it was an initial attempt prior to really nailing it. But that's okay, because there's no reason it can't be a totally accurate replica from the novel, which is how I like to think of it.
This is another piece by Curiousgood. If you have a look at her site, you'll see a later version that is much more in-line with what is seen on-screen. I'm not sure if any are available, but you can always send her a question.
